It's August, and my email box is overflowing with requests from curious fashion fans regarding the latest basics, trends and 'what's hot' this season. Rest assured, the Shopping Queen is 'in the know' and ready to let you know all the in's and out's on what to wear and how to care for your personal style. This month I'm kicking it off with tips on total body tweaking - body basics on from head to toe that will reflect well being. Here's a Fashion Alert: It's clip and snip time and never too early to put on a fresh new look for fall. Step one: Start at The Shops of Saddle Creek.

Heads up! While you were busy catching the waves, the sun and salt water were doing a number on your hair. Yikes! I recommend you set sail for the salon and save those locks you love. Revive with a cute cut and deep conditioning. Word on the street is the classic bob is back and turning heads all around. It's sleek, stylish and complements most anything in your closet - it's 'shear' brilliance. To back up your new do, invest in a line of salon products that will keep your look fresh and not washed out.

I scream, you scream, are you sure you used enough sun screen? Ouch. There is no fine line between a sun-kissed glow and burnt sienna sun damage - too much sun is not fun. I have some good news, however, with the correct skin/spa treatment you can renew, and in some cases repair, the unpleasant signature left by le soleil. Several salons offer in- house services or take home packages, which can be just as effective, and used routinely. Also, to maintain that golden glow, check out the latest line of self-tanning and moisturizing creams. They create an overall honey-dew radiance without the oompa loompa appearance.

Although fall is just around the corner, it's still open season on open-toed shoes, and no little piggies want to be going to the market looking like a faux pas in foot care - it's time to clip, cut and color. Maintaining a pedicure and manicure does not take a lot of fancy footwork - you need to initially visit a salon for the nitty-gritty, and then back up the beauty routine at home. P.S. I suggest you stick with a clear polish for less care and longer wear.
And here's one last tip on rejuvenating and energizing your body - don't forget the inside! Revisit your nutritional intake and daily dose of vitamins and supplements. So, as you soak up the last rays of summer, enjoy, be vigilant, and spend a day at Saddle Creek for head to toe prepping and pampering - it's even better than a day at the beach!
See you in September!
